Main advantages of silicone pads
Compared to standard black rubber pads, silicone ones offer several key improvements:
Elasticity in cold weather: Unlike rubber, silicone does not harden or crack at extremely low winter temperatures.
Resistance to chemicals: The material is completely resistant to oil, lye, salt and winter reagents on the roads.

What are they used for?
