Understanding the light indication:
There are usually two LEDs on the relay housing — red and green. Here is what their combinations mean when the engine is running:
Red + Green on: The system is operating normally. The generator is charging, and the relay is maintaining the voltage within the correct limits.
Red only on: There is a problem with charging. Possible causes are an open generator excitation circuit, a loose belt, or a fault in the relay itself.
Green only on (rare): Usually signals a voltage above the norm (overcharging), which can damage the battery.
None on: No power to the relay. Check the fuses, ignition switch and cable connections to terminals "15" and "67"
