The Fenox HB1002C3 water pump for Lada Niva (VAZ 2121,21213,21214) includes several technological improvements over the standard factory pumps of the old type, aimed at a longer service life and better operation of the cooling system.
Main improvements and features:
the model has the following advantages:
-Cast iron turbine (impeller):
Unlike some standard or cheap alternatives with plastic or thin sheet metal turbines, the HB1002C3 uses a solid cast iron turbine. This prevents deformation at high temperatures and provides a more stable flow of antifreeze.
-Ceramic seal (seal):
The pump is equipped with a modern ceramic mechanical seal. It is significantly more resistant to wear and leaks compared to the graphite seals used in older pump models.
-Double-row bearing:
A special double-row bearing with high load capacity is used, which is factory-lubricated for the entire period of operation and has enhanced protection against moisture penetration.
-Improved blade geometry:
The turbine profile is optimized for better circulation, which is critical for Niva when driving off-road in low gears, where the risk of overheating is greater.
-Good idle flow rate:
Drivers note that the shape of the blades provides good circulation even at low engine speeds - a critical moment for Niva when moving slowly off-road.
-Resource:
With normal maintenance of the cooling system (clean antifreeze), the pump often lasts 40,000 km

-Sensitivity to antifreeze: The ceramic seal is very effective, but also fragile. If there is garbage in the cooling system or low-quality "Tosol" is used, the seal may be scratched and the pump may leak prematurely.
